Everyone loved all of the food. Best food ever!

Friday June 26th, Carly and Sanele were married in Coalville, Ut. It was amazing! The weather had been so awful for so long and so scary up until the hour before the ceremony. But the sun was shining, the birds were singing and Carly looked gorgeous!

About 20 minutes after the ceremony, you could see the clouds rolling in! The wind started to pick up and the decision was made to move the reception to the middle school. Everyone chipped in and started grabbing linens, food, tables, chairs and whatever else needed to be grabbed and loaded everything and everyone into the vehicles to head over to the school.

The food was awesomely (is that a word?) good. Roasted pig, fresh fruit, salads, coconut balls, and this incredible mango drink that I would be very happy to live off of for the rest of my life. Oh, did we mention the dancers? The entertainment was also awesome.

Did I mention it was awesome?

SingStar Champion of the World!

With a close running for 2nd and 3rd places - Tanna B Wilson was declared the winner of the coveted Thanksgiving 2008 SingStar competition. After a clean, never before seen tie of 8150 between Tanna and and unknown poor sport (*update - the poor sport has been identified as Miranda Hollomon) and a sing off between Tanna and Jessica Lynch - the winner was declared. Riots are thought to have started in the quiet streets of Kearns, UT.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had thanksgiving at Jessica's again this year - which works out perfectly. We were all together the Saturday after Thanksgiving to celebrate. For once - you will notice that there are no pictures of us eating! Some may think it odd that we did not eat at Thanksgiving - however, we were all too busy stuffing our faces with amazing seasonal foods to take any pictures.

In this great picture - you will notice what is about to take place as Jeff sits on the couch - watching. Aidan has fallen helplessly to the floor. Little does he know that Noah is executing 'pouncing kitten' in this fateful shot.

Erin and Cody are always happy that we take their pictures. Erin kept asking me to take a picture of her - so to shut her up - I did. Cody - thanks for the smile!

Sanele's singstar support reached as far as his arms would allow him from the comfort of Carly's side. Though he refused to sing - I thought I heard a dance challenge mentioned? BRING IT!

The intensity in this shot is frightening. I get chills every time I look at it.

This is the picture for Amanda and Byron's Christmas cards. I thought I'd give you a sneak peek since these people never get their pictures taken together like normal humans. Hey - I have a camera - I will take pictures. You can smile - or you can stick your tongue out! :)

A Gift

What is that yonder gift so grand?
Is it a star to hold in my hand?

We line up - eager for this secret gift that has been given us. What is it? It looks huge? Some say it was the Trojan Horse. Some say a flower that bring sunshine everywhere it goes.

Wait! They've uncovered it! Could it be? Why, its better than our wildest dreams!

To lay sod has always been a dream of mine! How amazing that I should be given this gift and not only to me, but to the whole family. A gift is no gift if it cannot be shared with family.

There were those who helped and those who supported...

And without either - this lawn would still be undone.

What DO we actually do there?

Talking, eating and reading are our main priorities on these trips.

Be warned - you come you must entertain random children...and sometimes dogs.

There is always lots of 4-wheeling.

And if your children are too rambunctious - they will be hog tied and hung from a tree.

The Talent portion: where articles are read

As always - the talent show was Tanna's favorite at the ranch. The enjoyment on their faces are enough to tell the whole story. Where are the others? Paula used her poor grandson as an excuse to stay at the cabin while Amanda and Byron fell asleep due to the peace and spirit that was brought forth by those in attendance. Miranda was trying to keep Aidan from ringing the bell and yelling out "Ok - I'm done. Let's go."

Tanna and Diane Wilson sit on the edge of their seats in anticipation for the next act.

Diane was so excited about the talent show. She had to take the last available seat which was behind a small tree. To improve her view, she knocked it over. Don't worry Aunt Di - they'll send you the bill.

During dinner on the last night, it was discovered that a member of the family was missing. Those around the missing person were held for questioning before a live studio audience. Included persons of interest were: Darrel Trost - weight lifter and womanizer, Paula Schafer - whom unbeknownst to us is Greek, Diane Trost - who moonlights as a radio talk show therapist and Tanna Wilson - who unsurprisingly is a self absorbed make up artist to the stars. ;)

After nearly 2 hours of questioning it was thought amongst the family that the missing person was the one who wrote the murder mystery. At least...they hoped.

S'more fun!

After a long day of fun and excitement, the family decided to make s'mores. With the fire pit occupied, we decided that fire is fire. Man make fire. Girl roast marshmallow.

Tanna B was the first to try the s'more ala lighter fire. She was quoted as saying "mmmm....".

Diane, the supposed older and wiser adult in our group decided...hey - why not. "These are wicked awesome!" She said. Later that night she was observed holding the lighter in her hand saying "fire" repeatedly.

Byron, the scientist behind it all, discovered that you could still burn a marshmallow with a lighter, thus ending the 12 year debate over whether or not an actual fire pit was needed to make s'mores.

Some marshmallows were a success while others just looked abused. In the end: a s'more is a s'more is a s'more.

After a long day of sitting in the sun, riding 4-wheelers, enduring the talent portion of the reunion, sitting through 12 hours of a murder mystery, roasting marshmallows over the open flame of a lighter and spending 3 days with our lovely family - it was inevitable that we would go a little crazy. But a good crazy.

After discussing the horrific happenings in Canada (apparently about a canadian muslim midget) we decided to tell ghost stories.

Tannabey Jones was a name given to Tanna after having heard Aidan call her Tanna B all weekend. How she ended up as a male Canadian midget....we have no idea. Maybe that is the horror of the limerick?

There once was a Canadian midget
He liked to wear shorts and fidget.
He fell down a hill
He took quite a spill.

His name...was Tannabey Jones.

random soccer-esque pictures

Wilsons and Schafers went head-to-head (with some slight height differentials) at Liberty Park today. We had an awesome picnic and played some soccer. Yes - that is an exercise ball, but consideringthe grace of many of us in our family, a large, soft ball was better to play with. The score was 6-2 Wilsons. Be afraid Wilsons. Schafer's are bringin' the pain to Lava!

Sanelle (Carly - correct my spelling!) didn't care if he should be impressing Carly's parents - he still took them out occasionally.

Adam and Whitney took each other on a few times. Was blood drawn?

Carly pulled a....something. She was out - but she played like a true warrior while she was in.

Go! Fight! Win! Don't worry Adam and Amanda - with some 6 inch platform boots, we'll beat them. Just wait.
